(SPOILERS) The Crest System World is Horrible

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 10:30 AM PST

So I was digging around the internet and there's like a Hanneman and Edelgard support that talks about his sister. Oh man. Apparently, she was considered a good "breeder" for crest babies, and she was married off to a noble who wanted power. After she couldn't give him crest children, she was abused and died an early death. I'm assuming she was raped for crest children as well. Hanneman also states that this was the norm in Fodlan.

Mercedes's step-dad and Jeritza's biological father married their mother for crest children. And then he was going to rape Mercedes for more crest children. Sylvain's family completely trashed his brother Miklan when Sylvain was born with a crest. Sylvain even says that a lot of women only liked him for his crest, like he was some kind of stud horse. Edelgard, Lysithea, and countless children were experimented on and tortured for the hopes of getting more crests.

I think Edelgard is painted in a bad light for starting a war because we can see everything that's happening. We know the those that slither in the dark plot and Rhea's side of the story. So it's easy to think that Edelgard is being played or crazy for starting a war. What is really shafted to side is the brutality of the Fodlan hierarchy. Common people and nobles were living in a hellish world of eugenics and crest obsession. Edelgard wanted to do away with all of that.

Also Hanneman lowkey the hero in Fodlan. If his crest research succeeds, he basically pulled a "if everyone's super, no one will be."

    My biggest annoyance with Faerghus

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 07:21 AM PST

This has been on my mind for a LONG while, ever since I saw Faerghus, and my god, as it annoyed the hell out of me.

    ... Why...

... Just why the hell is there never a single bit of snow in Faerghus?!

Not once did I see any snow or ice in Faerghus. At all.

Isn't Faerghus supposed to be this cold region? So why didn't the devs put up any snow or icescapes? It doesn't even need to play a major role in the gameplay or story, but games should have environments function in the aesthetic sense.

It's seriously annoying how never once in any scene in Faerghus or maps in Faerghus has there ever been any sign of snow.

I can't be the only one that felt a little annoyed by this, right?

'Fire Emblem: Three Houses' Wins Game of the Year

Replaying FE7 for the first time since childhood and a certain scene hit way harder than it ever had before.

    Posted: 17 Dec 2019 09:51 AM PST

So last night my sister introduced me to "Totally Legit Copies of Old Classic Games" and naturally I decided to replay FE7, my first entry to the series, for good old nostalgia. Also because I had never beaten it before, and I really wanna try out Hector Hard Mode. So I'm blitzing through Lyn's story, and I get to the end of her campaign where Lyn meets her dying grandfather for the first time and she gives him the emotional support to fight off his poisoning so they can make up for lost time. And I just started tearing up. My own grandparents are getting up there in years, and every family gathering just has this melancholy atmosphere that we may not have too many of these gatherings left. That scene never really hit me before, but seeing Lyn beg her grandfather not to give up because there is still so much to do just really hit home. Especially with Christmas coming up, the waterworks just started flowing. Anyway, I guess I just wanted to gush how much I love this series, and how certain things can have their meanings and impact change over the course of life. And just to say, appreciate the people in your life now, while you have them. Take care of yourselves everyone, and have some Happy Holidays.
