My first try on Felix. Know it ain't perfect but did it pretty fast, I'm very depressed so it was the first thing I did again. Even if it's not perfect at all I like how he looks. I am mostly into abstract art so. Next time I will put more time in it.

What do you think are the odds of each FE from 2-6 getting the FE1 localization treatment?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 07:47 PM PST

Just beat FE1 on my switch, and among the various the questions that crossed my mind was "am I ever going to see Book 2 and/or Roy in an official Nintendo release?" As much as I'd like to play Mystery of the Emblem and Binding Blade, I unfortunately don't think it'll happen. This isn't a Nintendo-bashing thread, though, I want to hear what you guys think.

Why you should replay Thracia 776

Why you should replay Thracia 776

This is my 19/14 Marty, who received paragon in chapter 8.

    https://preview.redd.it/jcpnqnqv13961.png?width=850&format=png&auto=webp&s=34957998cfa2766542cb6e410c74148af9d9940d

Why did I open with this? Because if you've only played fe5 once, you should probably play it again.

When I first played fe5, I thought it was a pretty good game. Maybe even a great one. I didn't go in completely blind; I saw Mekkah's video for beginners and a couple eps of Dondon's 0% growth playthrough. After completing the game, I said to myself, "That was pretty fun. The fatigue system made me feel like I used everyone. I don't really see the need to play it again." I had already used the game's 2 "ests" Mareeta and Homer, and felt content that I had enjoyed the full experience.

Flash forward to a month ago, and my friend who was introduced to the series via three houses had finally arrived at Thracia 776. I was excited for him, and told him to watch Mekkah's youtube video about fe5 for beginners. When he got paragon and didn't know who to give it to, I told him Saffy would be decent so she can get warp faster, or some people like giving it to Callion to make him good. After saying that I decided "You know, you can't really go wrong with giving it to anyone you like really," then thought about it, and then amended it with "Well, you might get screwed over if you give it to Marty."

And yadda yadda yadda, here we are. But I did more than just use Marty. I tried to use as many new units as possible. I benched Fergus, Orsin, Mareeta, and Homer and used Callion and Shiva (the latter whom I had only used short-term). I went the B route this time, used Saias instead of Ced, and saved Eyvel this time.

But things like using new units and going on different routes is something common to all fire emblem games. The reason why you should replay fe5 if you haven't already is because only on your second playthrough can you fully understand and appreciate the mechanical richness that ONLY this fire emblem game can provide. When you give Nanna wrath and a ced scroll immediately and let her go to town, when you figure out Tina gets like 30 wexp every thief/unlock staff and misses a lot, when you train all your staff users to A rank staves, and when you concoct a strategy to get all 6 warp staves safely in 21x (without spamming thief), you gain or at least move closer towards a sense of mastery that's unique to Thracia. You can watch all the 0% growth playthroughs there are, but I don't think you'll fully understand until you play the game yourself, and then replay it.

Finally, I think this game has a stereotype of being one of the most "Elite" of all fire emblem games. And while I definitely think LTC's of this game are some of, if not the coolest in the franchise, I also think it's one of, if not the most fun game played casually. Scrolls, movement stars, movement levels, infinite staff ranges, and Thracian skills are the most fun tools given to you in any fire emblem game, and they not only let you break the game when used in a non-ltc environment, but also give you the flexibility to use something rediculous, like paragon Marty, without too much recourse.

Oh, and one last thing. About that friend I had? Maybe I didn't warn him about this game nearly enough. He's at chapter 12x and his Saffy is at lv. 4 with B rank staves. He also gave paragon and wrath to Dalsin. I pray for him daily, and I hope you all will too. I pray that one day, he replays Thracia 776.

Are the Spin Offs Worth Playing?

    Posted: 03 Jan 2021 01:00 PM PST

Hey, it's me, the small twitch streamer who is playing through all FE games this year! I was wondering about the few spinoff games, and if they're worth playing. I have FE Warriors, but haven't played it yet. (Got for christmas.)

I was wondering if the Archnaea Saga and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE are worth playing, have any huge impact to story, or are just in general worth my time while taking on this massive task.

Also, just to update how Day 3 went, I finished the day as I started Chapter 9 of SDatBoL. I'm halfway following a walkthrough, just to help me figure out the shops and tips and stuff, so that's going nicely. I'm really worried about not being strong enough to get through the late-game, but I'm just going to keep going. I'm giving myself one or two outs on these games, should I just become unbearably stuck at some point, I'll just continue to the next game if I truly need it.

Thanks for all of your encouragement! twitch.tv/koijesus
