    The fact that this is Part 1 Dimitri only makes it sadder. He then tries to play it off like he was acting just to trick Gilbert, but their A-support has Gilbert say that he knew that deep down Dimitri wasn't acting. He was telling the truth, and honestly wanted to die, but tried to play it off. The lack of self-worth in Dimitri is honestly frightening. Their B-support reveals that Dimitri has been entering every battle in the frontlines without regard for his safety, and clearly he wishes he were dead. I feel like this almost implies that there's a part of Dimitri that wouldn't mind if he died during a battle. He knows he's prince and accepts those responsbilities, but he, himself has no value in his own life. His subtle passive suicidal ideations throughout the route are honestly really heartbreaking because it makes you realize that he's constantly pushing himself to keep up the appearance of an ideal prince.

    Dimitri and Gilbert are so similar in how they constantly punish themselves for being alive instead of someone else, and it's so heartbreaking to see them like this. I feel like people don't talk about this support enough though. It's not just sad, it also offers so much insight into both of their mindsets.
