    It's very old fashioned to me. Like, my mom is not a bigot but when it came to my uncle she would never just come out and say he was gay. And I don't even know if he's technically out of the closet to our family. It's something we all know but nobody really says it. Mom just called him a "confirmed bachelor" or "not the marrying type." And his partner was his "roommate."

    The Dimitri/Dedue ending has that vibe. One of those "secrets" that everyone in Fhirdiad castle knows but there's an unspoken agreement to look the other way.

    The Queen, playing dumb: "Oh the king? He's on another hunting trip with his companion Dedue. They sure do love those long hunting trips. "
