I find it hilarious that the gatekeeper always says he has nothing to report and then actually comes up with a report on something, while the abyss keeper literally says he has something to report but then has a conversation with me about literally nothing of interest lmao.

I love the little things in this game so much

Whenever Lysithea says "Let's make this quick" my mind always changes it to "Let's make Nesquick" and I'd say that's pretty in character for her.

What do Crests actually do?

It recently occurred to me that characters never explicitly mention the combat abilities of Crests. They mostly mention passive side effects, like being sleepy, absurdly strong, or having a sweet tooth. We can assume that having a Crest enhances one's body and conditions, and two even more so though at the cost of your life span. But then I started to wonder what it would be like if Crests had their gameplay effects in the story.

Would Bernadetta suddenly duplicate things? Would Felix accidentally shove a pencil through his desk? Would Byleth occasionally sap the life from anyone they touch? Or should we separate gameplay and story, and just say something like the adrenaline of combat actually activates those effects? Or should they just not be considered at all, and should we only consider the effects mentioned in story the real abilities Crests imbue? What do you all think?
