First of all, huge thanks to /u/EclipsedLunus, the originator and manager of the old Everyone Plays Fire Emblem threads, who has granted the mod team permission to take over posting them.

Welcome to EPFE! This thread is a casual space that can be used to discuss any Fire Emblem playthroughs you have going on. Unit screenshots, general impressions, frustrations... gameplay stuff that would otherwise be removed as a standalone post under Rule 8 is fair game here. It's the same idea as the Everybody Plays Three Houses posts we had a short while ago, but not just for Three Houses.

While you're free to ask for advice here, specific questions might get better responses in our Three Houses Question Thread or General Question Thread for non-3H questions.

Just totally separate from the story, maybe during the five year skip. Just 30 minutes of Seteth saying to Rhea,

"Remember that time I told you not to hire a masked 21 year old who said he had no interest in friends? And now what is he doing? That's right, he's trying to kill us."

"Oh, oh wait Rhea. Remember that time I told you we shouldnt hire a fucking crest scholar when we're trying to hide the origin of crests? And what's he doing now? Yeah, he's trying to kill us."

"Ohhhhh or maybe we shouldn't have hired a desperate risque opera-singing wino to be a professor at a religious school. I think I brought that up. And what's she doing now? Trying to kill us."

"How about when I said, 'You can't just allow an atheistic 20 year old from dagda to be a knight of Seiros. She's just repaying a debt. She might turn on us.' And now what's Shamir doing? Yeah she's trying to kill us."

"And then there was that time that I said, 'Maybe we shouldn't send young impressionable teenagers to kill people on a weekly basis, while under the leadership of the heir to the empire, and her vampire sidekick.' And guess what? They're all trying to kill us now!"

"But of course we can't forget that time I said, ' We can't hire a 20 year old mercenary in lingerie to be the newest professor. And we definitely shouldn't give her the most powerful weapon in the world.' But you kept prattling about how she was sorta like your mom and guess what? Now God is trying to kill us."

"Also, fuck Alois."

The "Sylvain needs Glasses" theory has had another important breakthrough!!

So a couple of days ago i posted my theory in this sub, that Sylvain has bad vision, and that he desperatly needs glasses, based on a couple of factors in the game. Some commenters came up with additional observations about Sylvain that only appear to support this. And today i got Sylvain and Annette's C-support which all but cements this theory. In it Sylvain asks her about a book she is reading:

Sylvain: How can you stay focused reading a book that thick...with such small print? Is some of that text upside down?

The dude can't even read properly because of his vision. This might also explain why he has a budding talent in Reason, which is likely the most study-oriented skill for the students. Sylvain doesn't appear to dislike learning and is actually quite smart. But it would take some personal tutoring for a teacher to notice his bad vision and provide him with some books with bigger text or at least some reading glasses.

So with this knowledge added to the pile, we know that:

-He has abysmally low Dexterity and Hit Rate

-He has a weakness in Archery, which requires good vision

-He has a budding talent in Reason, which would require the personal attention of a teacher to help with his vision

-He has attempted to hit on a scarecrow and Ingrid's grandmother

-He has trouble discerning the feminine details about Leonies' appearance

-He hits on pretty much every girl he sees, with little apparent discrimination.

This cannot be a coincidence. Sylvain needs glasses is canon. Change my mind.
