    Happy April Fools 2020 everyone!! After making a call to the "Ardent Clubhouse of Armour Knights", they have finally arrived at /r/fireemblem in celebration of April Fools day. Making the long trip from Heirhein, we had them scheduled for April 1st but we forgot to account for.... let's just say "challenging logistics" that come up when calling on a group of Armour Knights.     I'm really really sad about the cipher announcement. I've always like TCGs since I was a kid and when I learned that FE had it's own I went crazy. Every single card looked like it had so much love poured from the artists, and was such a thrill to see artists from some entries giving their interpretations of characters from other entries they weren't part of.

    Even so, I think their comment about ending bc FEH now has the same porpuse Cipher was supposed to have, gave FEH some unnesary and uncalled hate. Not like the game doesn't deserve hate with how they've handled it, with the FEH Pass fiasco and more, but I expect it to be hated for FEH things at least, and not for something that's out of their hands. I truly believe tho the moment the franchise started growing more, they should've capitalized and have an international release. A lot of people, including myself, didn't and/or couldn't get into Cipher bc it's completely in japanese. I know there are translations online and stuff, but that is a hassle that in this time and age shouldn't even exist. I believe if this was released 10-20 years ago there would be no other way but to find some ways to know the card effects bc it would be difficult to expect official translation but it would be undesrtandable. But with a game with 20+ series is extremely difficult to expect an international version without some kind of backlash.

    I hope that cipher isn't just forgotten and they consider at least a digital version of the game, more so seeing other games being so succesfull like Hearthstone, Magic or the now growing Legends of Runeterra. I believe that a digital version of Cipher would solve a shit ton of problems they would have if they go for a physical international release, and it would let them continue support it as long as there are more FE games, and we sure as hell will get more now. Anyways I hope this isn't the actual end of Cipher and more of a slumber so it can be revived in some way.

    It's no secret that Silver Snow is largely regarded by people as the weakest story in Three Houses. Additionally, there's also a consensus that Verdant Wind feels disconnected from the main story and can feel a bit tacked on.

    I believe that having the route split being in Golden Deer instead of Black Eagles not only solves this issue but makes far more sense for the player and characters. I firmly believe that in the GD route, the player should have the choice to have the Alliance side with the Empire or the Kingdom. Whichever side the Alliance sides with, swings the tides of war, bringing it to an end. Ideally Verdant Wind would have different missions, dialogue, and side characters depending on which choice is made.

    And I think it makes sense for Claude to go either way. Claude has tons of dialogue in the story that points to him being sympathetic to Edelgard's cause and he even speculated that his own ideals are similar to hers. It just feels really natural for Claude to work with Edelgard. Claude working with Edelgard instead of against her could fulfill the Byleth role in that he stops her from being quite so radical and extreme. He can center and ground her ambitions a bit. Similarly, it feels like Claude could realistically side against Edelgard as is. Or perhaps even be more connected with the Kingdom and Church. And both of Claude's routes could still be used to explore the lore and history of the world. Maybe using the two routes to explore two different sides of the lore.

    But that leaves the question, what happens to Crimson Flower? I think that the BE route should be completely unified behind Edelgard's cause. No fracture or split. Countless players have been disappointed that they have accidentally missed the opportunity to side with Edelgard. And sadly you lose two main characters in the route split. Characters that you've developed relationships and an attachment to just gone. One of them being the house's main lord. But no more. I think it just makes sense for the Crimson Flower route to be entirely united and not divided.

    Overall this change would improve a lot of facets of the game. The game would have 4 unique stories and perspectives. As opposed to what we have now in which we have Crimson Flower, and 3 variations of Silver Snow. I think this change greatly strengthens both Edelgard and Claude's stories and characters. Without getting into more specific story details, this is my idea and I'd love to hear your guys opinions on it.
