Til in Fates, if you use tome and Dragon Fang activated, you will slap the enemies with book.

Fates'name of the continent is Somnus.

Nohr in Japanese is Dark Night.

Hoshido in Japanses is White Night.

At the star of all routs, Corrin is seen sleeping and dreaming.

Near the end of Birthright and Conquest, Corrin is in the dream so they are sleeping.

Yato is called night sword in Japanese.

Omega yato is called Final Night.

In Heir of Fates, Anankos after being defeated said he is in a dreaming state.

In the Adrift banner, you are in Azura's dream.

Usually when the night come, you will go to sleep.

    Sleep in Latin means Somnus.

The Real Problem with Corrin in Conquest

    Posted: 02 May 2020 11:26 AM PDT

Hi everyone, I know that shitting on CQCorrin has been a thing for the past 5 years, but I think a lot of the hate that is thrown his way, is actually misplaced. Same with a lot of people's hate of most of the story beats of Fates in general that I find, is not about the actual content that's shown, but how it's presented to the player through the script.

    Common detractions

I think a lot of people are, at first, put off by the naïveté of CQ!Corrin as he surely is more naive than any other lord in the entirety of the series. Yet, I find that there is consistency throughout the story to support why he is naive (through being sheltered in his Fort), and how in early CQ he seemingly tries his best not to kill anyone. Believing that Garon is not the evil man that he/she believes them to be, and while to us it does seem a little ridiculous as Garon is pretty much moustache twirling, keep in mind that he never fully admits to any of his atrocities/orders until Chapter 14, and that the rest of the time it was being conveyed through characters such as Iago, his memory, and Hans. Three things that have shown to not be entirely truthful, or faulty to him.

Another common detraction that I find is that some believe that "there is no reason as to why Corrin would go back to Nohr", which is a divisive statement as people often say the opposite about Hoshido, but let me clear this up while I am here.

Branch of Fate is not, in script at least, a decision between Blood and Bonds, but instead a choice between a moral decision (BRCorrin's insistence during 6 that Garon is evil, and that people will die from him), and an emotional decision (CQCorrin's insistence that he won't abandon his family that he's known and that there has to be another explanation).

For this point, CQCorrin has been with his Nohrian family all his life, and that while Garon could attempt to murder Corrin again, Corrin's own naïveté is established here, and is built off throughout the rest of the plot of Conquest. To the point, that those who dislike CQ!Corrin's choice look at it purely from a logical perspective, and not a character one.

    Detractions

All right, so here is where the gloves come off, and where I believe CQ!Corrin becomes one of, if not, the worst lord in the series.

His lack of general agency of the plot, and how many times that potential core character defining decisions are ripped out of his hands.

When it comes to the Rainbow Sage, the Rainbow Sage kills him self just so that Corrin doesn't have to make the decision.

When it comes to deciding to kill Garon, Azura comes up with an exposition orb just so Corrin doesn't have to feel bad about killing him because he's "evil and dead", so that Corrin doesn't have to make the decision.

When it comes to Zola, Leo comes in and steals the kill so that Corrin doesn't have to make the decision.

When Corrin engages in battle, he spares everyone in an entire fucking army several times, because they didn't want to portray that Corrin was doing anything wrong.

When Ryoma dies, he does it himself so that, again, Corrin doesn't have to make the decision.

Shit, the final boss literally begs you to kill him, just that Corrin doesn't have to feel bad or guilty about killing Takumi.

Now, am I saying that Corrin should have killed all these people? Absolutely not, but all Corrin ends up making no decisions and not even growing as a character by the end, because they decide to make it so that Corrin does and says no little, you can't really fault him for much cause everyone took all the decisions away from him during almost any scene.

CQ15 is so bad because instead of having the knowledge of what Garon did and hearing him say it, change Corrin's beliefs or his motivation.

We instead dump it all on plot orb, that literally tells Corrin that "Garon bad", and Azura concocts a plan just so that Corrin doesn't have to make any growth or a character defining decision or personal revelation.

Hell, not even talking about the deaths, most of the scenes in CQ are helped carried by Leo and Xander who talk or sometimes even decide motivations for Corrin, just so that Corrin himself can stay as least interesting as possible.

And while a common detraction, sparing entire armies is definitely such an odd decision in a war game to bring up as a plot point, because it is so narratively ridiculous that it makes other lords look less "nice", because if CQCorrin can just spare entire armies than why doesn't other lords.

This is all done to make CQ!Corrin be as squeaky clean morally as possible, because the writers didn't want to polarize the people who played this game by making a self-insert actually make plot decisions and rather just have the rest of the characters do things that are "outside of Corrin's control".

I made this because I was just playing Path if Radiance and I was on the last chapter. Ashnard was in his final form and had four hp. Four. All I needed to do was hit him once with Ike, who had an 84 percent chance to hit and he missed. And then Ashnard hit him with a 42 percent chance and I now have to start the entire chapter over...
