What is something you wish this series would do?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 11:07 AM PDT

Tilte, from gameplay to story, what is something you wish they would do? Wether it be introducing something new to enhancing something they already did before

Id love if there were more traitor archetypes like Orson, but I guess the fact that it's infrequent makes it less predictable

What's the line you draw on a character that makes you like/hate them?

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 01:54 PM PDT

Title question explains it all, what are your thresholds of their character, disregarding gameplay and design and looking purely at their writing and personality? Gameplay can make a bad or dislikable character into a loved unit and some people just fawn over design without looking deeper.

Is it being racist, a bully, murderous and psychopathic? What are the thresholds you have?

What Would a Fire Emblem Fighting Game Look Like? I made character select screen and came up with some ideas for a hypothetical Fire Emblem fighting game. You know, aside from Smash lol.

Subaki's stats do match his character (sorta)

    Posted: 11 Aug 2020 05:20 AM PDT

Sorry if this doesn't quite warrant a topic on its own, but it was either make this or hide in the bushes into someone mentions Subaki so I could leap out at them and start talking about STATS

One of my big pet peeves is when a unit's personality or appearence doesn't really match how they play in game... Fates is especially bad for this, with the clumsy walking disaster maid Felicia having very high skill and luck, the visibly muscled Rinkah having a worse str growth than Sakura, and Kagero having a much higher str growth than her visibly muscled ninja companions while also having the lowest (non-prepromote) base skill growth in the game... despite being a highly trained ninja.

It's really easy to make fun of Subaki too, because despite being lauded as Mr. Perfect and the best at everything, he... kinda sucks? But a consistent theme in his supports is the extreme lengths he'll go to make up for any flaws, working obsessively to correct any "failure", to the point where he starts strategically snacking throughout the day because his stomach growled in front of someone once. If you look at his growths, his two best stats (HP/Def) are very uncharacteristically high for a peg knight, while his two worse stats, speed and res, are both things peg knights are good at! Especially when you consider that both Darting Blow & Warding Blow are accessible through the peg knight stat tree. So it would make sense that a man who doesn't want to fail at anything would pick a class that counters his worst attributes.

...in practice he is bad but that's just because Fates seems to hate any unit who's got a naturally high defense growth and nerfs their other stats into the ground. I just thought it was interesting how his stats do kind of make sense when you think about them...
