    Can someone explain to me what IS's thought process was with the unit balance in Binding Blade

    The amount of units you get that:

    Join late and hilariously underleveled

    Have garbage or middling (ie, equivalent to the units you had in Chapter 1 for instance) growth rates

    Have garbage base stats which coupled with their growth rates leaves the player no incentive to raise them at all

    Is staggering. It's not just like a handful of characters that come in with these problems it's like nearly 10+ with entrants as late as Hugh showing up to claim the champion's belt. Like yes I get the concept of "Replacer characters" (people who fill in the gaps of people who may have died earlier in the run like Noah/Treck for Allen and Lance) but then you get to stuff like Gwendolyn, Lilina, Ogier, Barthe and most egregiously Sophia and it's just baffling design decisions.

    There is hardly a reason for these characters to exist in the state the game hands them to you in let alone be used outside of character love. It's not even an issue of difficulty but just characters that outright feel like filler or that they were placed there without thought by the developers. It's even worse because FE6 is basically the definitive game of the "Hard mode bonus characters run the show" philosophy that just compounds the issue.

    Is there a ROMhack that addresses this at all? Like I'm not asking for everyone to get Nino growth rates to compensate for them being totally inefficient to raise or a complete overhaul of the game, but is there a reason why Gwendolyn and Sophia can't join at like level 8 with base stats that can compete instead of level 1?

    While playing FE Fates I've been amazed with the music in both Birthright and Conquest. Since then I've been thinking about which soundtracks in the series I enjoyed or look back on positively.

    Here are some of my favorites! "No Justice" from FE Fates is probably my new all-time favorite, I've been listening to it all evening haha

    FE4's "Dance in the Skies" (Ch. 4)

    FE5's "Leif's Army, Seeking Victory: Advance B" (Ch. 14)

    FE8's "Truth, Fear, and Hope" (Ch. 16)

    FE10's "A Gathering of Storms" (Pt. 1 Ch. 4)

    FE Fates' "No Justice" (Ch. 12)

    FE Three Houses' "Tempest of Seasons"
