    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 07:23 PM PST

Like with luck, dexterity, resistance, chance, ect ect what do they mean? Also whats the range for good and bad stats. I've been in this community for a good while (a shortly before fe3h release) and i kinda feel embarrassed that i still dont know what they mean.

Radiant Dawn not working for me

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 09:27 PM PST

Tried to boot up RD on Dolphin yesterday- worked a couple years ago when I first got it, but now it doesn't. Downloaded a more recent rom, tried converting it, and a couple other solutions but I'm not tech savvy so I've likely overlooked something or it just doesn't work on Dolphin anymore.

Does anybody have any solutions or suggestions?

Cinder Shadows Battle #7 “A Beast in the Cathedral” Help????

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 07:42 PM PST

I've replayed this level multiple times and even used a walk through video and yet can't break the shield of the monster quick enough before he scatters my entire team. Once my entire team gets scatter it practically becomes impossible for me to fight this beast. I'm really at a lost of what to do and would appreciate any help.

Here's some things I have tried

    • try and run it without a plan (obvious failure)

    • surround the enemy and try and get as many attacks in as possible (while not thinking about breaking the shields. Not using gambits either)

    • surrounding the enemy and using gambits to break down his shield (this method works but I always end up having two spaces of shield left unbroken so then it scatters my team and overwhelms the map with phantoms.)

-attempted to follow Cuddly Wombats walk through video to a T but then couldn't because the first three phantoms didn't spawn in the same position as his did and it messed with a lot of placements.

What do you want the next FE main antagonist to be like?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 08:24 AM PST

Fire Emblem has had a rich history of noteworthy antagonists from Evil Wizards looking to revive dragons to misguided and tragic individuals waging war for their ideals and to beings who have deteriorated to the point of insanity. The Villains have always had an important role in FE so I'm wondering what people would like to see the main antagonist of the next mainline game be like character and motivation wise.

    Is Silas Gunter's son?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 10:38 PM PST

I've been trying my first run of conquest lunatic and it just occured to me. Both have grey hair, black armour. Both cavaliers (sorta). Extreme devotion to corrin. It also sorta fits. We know Gunter basically raised corrin, while silas met him as a child, before basically being banished from the castle. That'd explain perfectly why he was there in the first place and would explain why Gunter's so loyal too. Corrin saved his son from execution.

    Tips for Apotheosis?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 10:19 PM PST

I've played Awakening 3-4 times since it came out and Apotheosis has always been something I've wanted to tackle. However, I've always been intimidated by how difficult it appears to be. I have a decent understanding about Awakening's mechanics, but I'm not sure if there's any specific preparations (optimal child pairings, skillsets, pairups, etc) that I should take into account before I start up my newest playthrough of Awakening with the intention of beating Apotheosis. I'll be playing on hard, and I'll have access to all DLC.

Are there any specific preparations I should make? What do you guys recommend?

What are your favorite FE games based on promotion gains?

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 09:49 AM PST

    Hi,

What are your favorite FE games based on a promotion gains criteria?

    Mine:

    1) Radiant Dawn (girls who tend to have lower str/def get +1 str/def by the end, no 3rd tier promotion is left on the bench, no amazing bonuses but no promotion gives garbage bonuses, the most balanced promo gains ever).

    2) FE 6 (from what I remember since growths are low and promotions are a major boost to most units, promo gains are huge for some classes that need it, like the otherwise pretty bad fighters to warriors and the mercenaries to heroes, but also myrmidons to SM and pirates/bandits to berserkers).

    3) FE 13 (cavaliers gain notably excellent promo bonuses, all they would need would be more speed since it's Awakening and speed benchmarks are pretty high if you don't spam pair up and S rank supports, knights also gain massive bonuses on promo).

    4) FE 14 (cavaliers have a choice of superior physical stats or more versatility and +1 movement, generals also gain a skill that negates speed issues later on so they can focus on their tank stats and strength, sky knights get amazing promo bonuses and utility or lesser promo bonuses but the best PP weapon, lots of promo options are viable, but the issue is some classes could really get better promo gains, notably kistune, their promo gains are nearly useless, they need strength and bulk and all they gain is more pointless speed and res, same for master ninja).

The ones I hate the most are:

    1) Radiant Dawn T1>T2 because they barely gain any stat especially males. This makes raising T1 units pretty pointless because unless they're very specialized like Aran who doesn't get beaten by anyone available in most P1 and P3 DB chapters in his own specialty, you already get prepromotes who are pretty similar to your T1 units at the same level but don't need any effort to get there. With relevant promo gains, there would be more of a reason to use T1 units past ch5.

    2) The Sacred Stones because around half of the classes barely gain anything useful and just moving to RD T3 bonuses would already be a big upgrade to most classes. Although offensive benchmarks seem low, when you want to early promote you realize quite fast that very few classes give more than 1 spd on promo, some give 0 (most Magic classes don't give any spd, which doesn't help unpromoted magic units who have a low base spd that barely doubles earlygame bandits and fighters). Play it in 0% growths and you'll understand why I think FE8 promo gains are shi tty. Growth Emblem should be FE8's nickname because even your prepromotes barely have decent bases (Syrene has bases that would fit a wyvern knight but she doesn't have 9 con, Dozla has 9 base speed and 16 base strength, his only good point is his massive bulk, Seth is good for earlygame but without growths you realize pretty fast that his bases are nothing spectacular after the route split, he can't double any mercenary past the ch3 one), and the only good unpromoted units as far as bases go are Cormag and Gerik (and Cormag only because he has +3 spd on promo, something that is really rare in TSS).

for some reason I can't bring myself to play awakening anymore

    Posted: 25 Feb 2022 09:28 PM PST

like I want to play awakening, I remember having a decent time with it once or twice, but now... I can't bring myself to care about any of my units, like, I care about shadow dragon and fates chars more than this, the awakening units I care most about are ChRobin, Frederick, Lissa, Kellam and Panne (and maybe Gregor & Tharja) and if you're not one of them I just... can't bring myself to care about anyone else and that makes it really hard for me to play the game for me
