Does anyone else get uncomfortable with the Byleth x students ships?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 02:42 PM PDT

Idk if it's just me or not but I'm not really comfortable with a lot of the Byleth x student art and stuff. There's obviously a very unbalanced power dynamic in the relationship in a ton of relationships already (consider Marianne, Dimitri, Bernadetta, Annette, Cyril) and a lot of them, Byleth met as minors (legitimately almost every student). This isn't saying that people can't like the characters or anything btw, I just don't feel comfortable with the Byleth/student shipping, ESPECIALLY when it's usually preskip designs. It doesn't matter if they're 18 preskip or whatever, it's still just uncomfortable to me.

Shadows of Valentia Discussion Series - Forsyth: Loyal Lieutenant

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 03:26 PM PDT

    Today, we are discussing Forsyth.

Forsyth is a playable character in Shadows of Valentia and is a member of the Deliverance.

Born into a scholarly family with his father having made a name for himself, Forsyth initially thought in following his father's footsteps, growing up while studying diligently. However, he later decided to follow the path of a knight by joining a local lord's army with aspirations to become a knight. Soon, he joined the Deliverance, dragging Python along with him.

After the war, he joined the knighthood of the newly formed Kingdom of Valentia, having learned how to relax and assisted Clive as a capable and thoughtful lieutenant.

What do you NOT want from an Fe4 Remake

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 04:30 PM PDT

Specifically things that other people would actually want but you don't. I think its fair to say most people don't want an avatar shoe horned in or for the item management system to be removed. One thing I really don't want is for there to be extra recruitable characters. Like I feel like it would be so much better to have the character kill Ishtar and give her a meaningful death rather than have her be recruitable for the last part of the game. Think of Fe12 where Michalis is recruitable right before the final map. It didn't really add anything. The same goes for trying to add in Thracia 776 characters. I get why people want it, but the whole reason Leif joins Seliph in Geneology is because his army gets wiped out as opposed to in Thracia 776 where that doesn't happen and they go there separate ways. It just doesn't sit right with me I guess. Not to mention that I don't need another foot locked unit to drag across the map who will end up contributing very little and eventually end up on permanent castle duty.

Did anyone try Descendant vs Ancestor battles in Verdant Wind’s final chapter?

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 05:11 PM PDT

So for the final battle during my VW run, I selected most of my units based on descendants or ones with the same crests of the 10 Elites and holding their Hero's relic if they could get it in VW. I made sure each of the descendants delivered the finishing blow to their puppet ancestor using their relic if they are able to. I also made sure to finish off the final boss using Byleth and SOTC. This led me to select Lorenz, Ingrid, Sylvain, Mercedes, Annette, Claude, Catherine, Byleth, Hilda, Felix, along with Lysithea and Marianne for having a 10 Elite crest/relic. This led to these results:

    Ingrid (Luin) vs Daphnel

Sylvain (Lance of Ruin) vs Gautier

    Hilda (Freikugel) vs Goneril

    Lysithea/Lorenz (Thyrsus) vs Gloucester

    Mercedes (Rafail Gem) vs Lamine

    Felix (Aegis Shield) vs Fraldarius

    Claude (Failnaught) vs Riegan

    Catherine/Lysithea (Thunderbrand) vs Charon

    Annette (RIP Crusher) vs Dominic

Byleth (Sword of the Creator) vs Nemesis

Marianne (Blutgang) vs Blaiddyd (RIP Dimitri)

I thought it was a fun challenge to do, especially when it serves poetic justice to defeat the Elites and Nemesis this way. So I want to know if anyone did this or would be interested in doing this for their run.

Happy 21st anniversary to Fire Emblem: Thracia 776!

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 04:54 AM PDT

Today is the 21st anniversary of the release of Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 for the Super Famicom! It was originally released on a Nintendo Power cartridge (not to be confused with the magazine) which was a rewritable cartridge similar to a flash cart that could have different games written onto it at stores with a machine that could write onto the cartridge. A permanent cartridge edition was later released on January 21st, 2000. The game unfortunately was never exported overseas although several fan translations have been released, most recently Project Exile and its fork Lil' Manster.

The game features Leif in his quest to rebel against the Grannvalian Empire and take back his rightful place as the Prince of Leonster; it is an interquel of Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War that takes place during Chapters 6-8 of that game. In terms of gameplay a return to "orthodox" map design as seen previously in FE3 was taken. Several new mechanics were also introduced, some of which stuck around for some time like constitution and rescuing while others like movement stars and fatigue have yet to be re-introduced into Fire Emblem.

What did you think of FE5? What memorable moments have you had with the game? What things did you like about it that other games haven't done? Let's discuss below!

    Fire Emblem Revquest Hack

    Posted: 01 Sep 2020 02:31 PM PDT

I made a hack where you can recruit Birthright units and Fuga in Conquest. The Birthright units have their Birthright bases, can support the Conquest units that they could in Revelation, join at the same time they would in Birthright and join alongside the Conquest units. They do not replace anyone. You can also forge Birthright weapons thanks to the code ips file, the file needs to be placed in the title id folder right next to the romfs folder.

    Here's the hack
