I made a list of how many times The Edge of Dawn appears in Three Houses' soundtrack

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 12:30 PM PDT

Like with Fates and Shadows of Valentia main themes, Three Houses' main theme, The Edge of Dawn, can be heard in a several of its music tracks, so I made a list of how many times it is heard in the game's soundtrack. The only tracks not listed here are the amiibo tracks because they're ripped straight from other games in the series and are bonus music tracks, The Edge of Dawn itself, its Seasons of Warfare version, and The Color of Sunrise, the last of which is basically just an instrumental piano version of The Edge of Dawn. The reason I excluded the last three are because the point of this list is to see where The Edge of Dawn can be heard in the rest of the game's soundtrack.

There is also a music track in the game that I have not included that has no official name, dubbed "Prelude of the Nabateans" by Blocked OSTs. It plays right before you hear Song of the Nabateans in the cutscene during the night of the ball. It is the only music track in the game besides the various jingles that is not listed in the music library, so I decided to not include it in the list, especially since it doesn't even feature The Edge of Dawn in it.

Lastly, for the music tracks that have Rain and Thunder versions (aka the map themes), I specified whether or not they're heard in both versions or just the Rain version, just for the sake of being thorough.

So, if we count up all the music tracks in the game with The Edge of Dawn in them, including the two that I'm not entirely sure about, that would be 45 tracks in the game that feature the song. There are 93 music tracks listed here, so that would be about 48% (46% if we don't count the two Maybes) of the game's soundtrack featuring The Edge of Dawn. To compare it to Fates and Echoes, Fates' main theme was featured in about roughly 57% of its soundtrack and Echoes' main theme was featured in about roughly near 30% of its soundtrack.

That's honestly a bit more than what I was expecting. I figured it would be somewhere between Echoes and Fates but I was expecting it to be a bit more closer to Echoes.

What was a conversation that made you instantly fall in love with a character, and what was one that you disliked so much that it damages how you view that character?

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 06:49 PM PDT

I am asking this because I just found the Chapter 11 Leonie convo with Byleth, and it's so unlike what I've heard on her, and it's so well written yet not many talk about that, they talk about the ill timed support with the Jeralt baggage instead.

For me it was Calill's support series with Geoffrey, for both of them. It has Calill be a wingwoman and help Geoffrey realize his emotional feelings and human self, instead of the dry, serious and stone faced paladin he is externally and is oft portrayed as. He doesn't show this much personality elsewhere which got me to love both of them immensely.

Edit: On the other end there's the Hana/Corrin support chain that's really weird and iffy and makes her look bad.

Is open borders and unification feasible, or is Claude a hopeless idealist? re: Edelgard's paralogue, Cyril and Hilda's paralogue, a certain choice in Crimson Flower

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 11:36 AM PDT

I want to start by saying that Claude is one of my favourite characters, and that his goal of world peace is incredibly noble. However, I'm starting to doubt whether it's feasible or wise to open borders or unite with Almyra.

So, we know from Verdant Wind that Claude and Nader are very close. If Claude is spared in CF, Nader invades the locket regardless. I find it difficult to believe that Nader would do this without at least talking to Claude. So either Claude agreed with his decision or didn't care/couldn't stop him. This goes directly against what he says about being in Byleth's debt.

Furthermore, in Cyril and Hilda's paralogue we see Almyrans trying to invade Fodlan for funsies. Cyril also talks about their toxic warrior culture and disregard for life. In Claude's C support with Cyril he is hopelessly out of touch with Almyran commoners.

Is Claude just an idealist? His paired ending with Byleth shows us that they do achieve unity and peace between the two nations, but that required a marriage between the monarchs. It also makes me wonder whether Fodlan and Almyra would be equal in that arrangement. Real life countries united by royal marriage/family ties such as Scotland and Britain, or the Spanish kingdoms often don't see everlasting peace, if the independence movements are any indication.

Obviously, this is fiction and not real life, but all the above evidence just makes Claude's goals seem like such a pipe dream and especially unrealistic. I wonder if his ending/route was meant to be something else before IS started rushing it.

Adding extra conversations to FE4 and other games

    Posted: 19 Jun 2021 08:43 PM PDT

As many of you guys know, E3 came and the Genealogy remake was not announced. Sucks but what can you do? One of my hopes for the Genealogy remake was to add extra conversations for characters so that they can get fleshed out or get noticed. This made me think, what conversations would you add to FE4 and other Fire Emblem games in general? FE4 is preferred but I'm also interested in what conversations/supports people want. I'll start.

For me, there are many but I feel like Holyn and Scáthach were done dirty. Holyn is a traveling gladiator who has Od Holy blood. That should spark something with other characters like Beowulf, who is a sellsword, or Quan, who might tell him the situation with Isaach or wonder why a noble's son is playing gladiator. It will be better than just have Holyn join Sigurd's army and only talk to Ayra. Scáthach is another character that I think should have had more conversations. Scáthach is the son of Ayra, his uncle is King Shannan, and is fighting alongside the Scion of Light. Yet, the number of conversations that he has is paltry. Just a Larcei convo and a Lana lovers' convo end game. He gets no talk with Shannan, no talk with Seliph, and no talk with any other kid. I feel like it's wasted, why make the characters twins if only Larcei matters? Regardless, what conversations do you guys think should have been added to FE games?

    3H:SS PMU

Silver Snow is the only route I have yet to play, and seeing as I did a normal playthrough of VW, A recruit 'em all for AM, and a no recruit for CF, I figured that this one should be a PMU

    • That said, there are still 3 spots open for other students

    • Ashen Wolves are allowed

    Units

    • Sniper M!Byleth

    • War Cleric Flayn
