    Fire Emblem now Vs how I remember it as a kid

    I started the FE series about 15 years ago when I got path of radiance onthe GameCube. I was a tween, used to playing smash and starfox, and other such games. A slow fire-emblem game was not in my wheelhouse, yet I was RIVETED. I love the story, it felt so huge and sweeping. I loved leveling up my favorites, and I actually cried when characters died (the idea to reset when people died didn't occur to me-I was ironmanning without knowing it). My gamecube and the game were stolen when my house was robbed, when I was on THE LAT MAP Of the game. I was crushed.

    I got back into fire emblem as an adult with three houses, and since have been working my way though the series. I played 7 and 8, and just now am working my way though 9. It's crazy how different my perceptions were:

    1) the game looks BAD: I thought the graphics were so cool as a kid, yet playing it now I'm struck by hot trash the models are, even for the time period, and how drab and bland the maps are in terms of scenery. What a massive step back from the gorgeous art and pixel animation of 7 and 8. I understand why the game didn't sell well: it looked BAD.

    2) I was trash at the game: I played on normal and had to restart as a kid because it was too hard, and played easy. Even then I lost a lot of people. My team was mostly Titania and Laguz, plus Mia, Zihark, and Lucia because I loved swordmasters. I didn't know how to get Stefan. Boyd, Oscar, Kieran, Nephenee, all the mages, healers, fliers died. I loved armor knights because they never died.

    Now I am playing 9 on normal, after beating 3H on maddening and 7 and 8 on hard (not HHM yet) and I am steamrolling it while barely thinking. Oscar, Boyd, and Jill (among others) are absurd. The laguz are pretty meh.

    3) I didn't get the story: POR has a deep, intense story that I did not understand at all. I got the "racism bad" trope but didn't really get the nuances. Maybe the best FE story I've seen so far.

    Overall, Path of Radiance, despite its awful visuals, is a great game and defines the series for me. Anyway I'm going to go back to watching Boyd mess while maps up with a handaxe.

    Iron+ vs Steal?

    So I recruted Felix and he is Kicking so much behind, especially since I have my Dancer traveling with him. He is powerful and fast, Petra too. Between them, I a complete and utter noob, noticed they are kicking just as much booty with Iron Swords as with Killer Edge. I came to the realization the weight of the Iron weapons is very minimal, matched with high speed and strength, they can nanage 2-3 strikes almost matching Killer weapons. With that in mind, is Iron+ better then Steal?

    Notes:

    -Relatively standard clear of Chapter 3, Marcia faces a CoD depending on strength roll but fighters and bandits have sub 50 hit on Marcia.

    -Havletti gets 2RKOed so crit was unnecessary and doesn't really affect hand axe uses' conservatism

    -Chapter 4 I use Espinosa's 0% Strat as a foundation mostly for reliability purposes.

    -Soren's main grind session will come in the defense maps as there are 2 notable ones to get him up to par before Chapter 9.

    Yune Randomizer FE9 help.

    So every time I try to randomize FE9, it gets stuck at the same point [(/zbg/map14_ship02/bf.cmp)], and i cant get it to proceed. It told me something about upgrading from a 32 thing to a 64 one, but I've no clue what that's talking about. Has this happened to anyone else or am I just making a dumb mistake?

    3H recruitment glitch?

    I came across a strange issue in 3 Houses where I had three people (Petra, Hilda, and Marianne) want to join in the same week at the beginning of the month. I added them to my class (Blue Lions) and kept on going.

    During the exploration on that next weekend I accidently performed an action so I went back to my last save. When I came back I realized I hadn't saved that weekend so it started at the beginning of the month again. But since then none of the three of them have asked to join and won't join when asked in explore mode.

    I'm on NG+ I'd that makes a difference. It's been about three months since this started. These three aren't really game changers so it's not a huge loss, but it is a bit of a bummer.

    Is this a glitch of some form or is my luck terrible? Any help or insight would be appreciated.
