Everyone Plays Fire Emblem - Week of November 17, 2019

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 12:47 PM PST

Welcome to EPFE! This thread is a casual space that can be used to discuss any Fire Emblem playthroughs you have going on. Unit screenshots, general impressions, frustrations... gameplay stuff that would otherwise be removed as a standalone post under Rule 8 is fair game here. It's the same idea as the Everybody Plays Three Houses posts we had a short while ago, but not just for Three Houses.

While you're free to ask for advice here, specific questions might get better responses in our Three Houses Question Thread or General Question Thread for non-3H questions.

And as always, remember to tag your spoilers!

Thank you for giving us the option to use monastery attire in battle so now I can see Annette's beautiful post time skip outfit while in battle as a gremory and dimitri's edgy black armour or even as a butler but what about units like petra and ingrid?

I understand that giving all units the ability to keep their outfits as fliers might result in graphical issues but Petra and ingrid already have their outfits as wyvern rider and peg knight respectively, couldn't we get them in those outfits in at least their master tier variants?

Crack Theory: Hilda made Leonie's post-timeskip outfit

    Posted: 17 Nov 2019 04:26 PM PST

So I like to think that it was Hilda that made Leonie's post-timeskip outfit. Now there isn't any confirmation to this, but hear me out for a second.

For one, Leonie's outfit post-timeskip is more attractive than she might want. She makes it apparent that she really doesn't care too much about looking cute, but the outfit suggests otherwise. Hilda, however, does care about Leonie's looks as noted in their B-support. Hilda wants Leonie to pick out one of her charms in order to be popular with the boys, but Leonie refuses. The more revealing aspects of Leonie's outfit make sense if was made by Hilda in order to make Leonie look more appealing.

Leonie would also have no choice but to accept the outfit if it was a gift made from Hilda despite its appearance. Leonie is not a person to let things go to waste, especially if there is some sense of sentimental value to it. That fact alone was a rather big part of their support chain, so Leonie accepting something like this from Hilda would fall in line with her character.

The outfit design itself also leads into this theory. It's an obvious homage to Jeralt, and Hilda is the only character not named Byleth or Alois that knows how much he meant to Leonie as a person, arguably moreso seeing as Leonie really goes into their dynamic in their supports. In fact, in all non GD playthroughs at chapter 10 when >! Jeralt dies,!!< everyone else consoles Byleth, but Hilda is the only one who's worried about Leonie's well-being. Having the design be Jeralt inspired fits in line with what Hilda knows about Leonie.

That's pretty much it, but it's cool to see how the pieces could fit in order for this theory to pan out. (Now watch me miss a statement that explains that Leonie made it herself...)
