Last names of Three houses lords are pretty interesting

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 12:42 PM PDT

So, out of boredom I decided to look through etymologies of different FE characters names and I got to admit some are pretty interesting

One of the more interesting ones especially are the etymologies of the last names of Dimitri, Edelgard and Claude

Let's start with Dmitri. Blaiddyd(also known as Bladud) was a supposed legendary brittonic king who also encouraged practice of necromancy aka practice of magic involving communication with the dead, considering his state in part 2 and him hearing voices it makes a lot of sense. The name in welsh means "Wolf-king"

Next up is Claude. His last name in ancient gealic means "Little king". Reagan is also a name in "King Lear" by William Shakespeare from which other members of Golden Deer last names may originate from

And the one which I think is the most interesting is Edelgard's last name - Hresvelg. Hresvelg comes from a giant called Hræsvelg who often takes a shape of an eagle. It's name can be translated as "Corpse Swallower". You may ask, what makes it so interesting? Well it's something that people who completed Blue Lions are definitely familiar with - Hegemon Husk, or rather it's Japanese name which translates into Hegemony Corpse Emperor. So her name not only can be connected to the name of the house but also her grotesque form during a final battle of Azure Moon

Which House Would the Past Fire Emblem Lords Join?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 04:04 PM PDT

Wow, it's already been more than a whole year since FE3H released! So now that time has passed and most have had a chance to play all the routes and experience what each nation and class is like, let's do a fun game!

Which House Would the Past Fire Emblem Lords Join?

Use the google form linked above to pick the house based on how well you think the character and their motivations would fit, and if you're not that familiar with the character then you can choose the last option on their question!

I'll have the form open for a week, and after that I'll make a cute little infographic with the results!

Feel free to share your opinions and try and convince others! You can always edit your choices if you've changed your mind!

    Thanks for participating!

EDIT: I edited a few things, so it may or may not have changed some of the responses. Please check to see if you already completed it or if any of your responses are missing! Fortunately, I've kept track of the responses and numbers prior to editing the form (just in case this happened), so worst case scenario I'll just add the numbers to the current ones!

Here's a traditional link to the google form, in case the embedded one above doesn't work: https://forms.gle/UyEwVgnNUWQKS8M47

    Chapter Chain Idea

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 07:41 PM PDT

So one of my favorite chapters is Rival Bands from Awakening, and likely for obvious reasons. This got me thinking of a chain of chapters in my dream fan game.

The overall gist is the same. At least for the first part. Instead of Mercs, two nobles are squabbling over land disputes, over who should be the rightful owner, maybe I'll post that in another post. The reason/story I mean.

In the first part, it'd be the same, the players army having to pick between the two sides, don't think there'd be an option to fight both sides yet.

Help one side Defend, or Capture. I think it'd be a bit bigger, the Stonewall Knights town maybe having defensive fortifications and whatnot.

In Part Two later on, the player receives a letter from whoever they helped. If the Stonewall Knights were aided, their scouts found a forward base camp to attack again, and decide to take the fight to them this time. If the Riders of Dawn were aided, they took the land and need help defending it from the Knights attempting to retake it, a Fog of War Defense chapter with the walls crumbling so you'd be attacked from all sides. What I like is that it flips the style around. If you Defended the first time, you're now on the attack, if you assaulted and Captured the first time, now you have to Defend. Unsure if you'll have any allies or not this time around.

In the Third Part, after a couple more chapters, you receive another letter from the leader you side with, wanting to wipe the other out and finish this, a final surge. HOWEVER you receive another message from their child saying they don't want all this conflict and want to end this without total annihilation. This time you have a choice with siding with one of the leaders or fighting both sides to subdue them and force a peace treaty.

I think this could have potential for an interesting side plot.

You could have the usual rewards of gold and items for assisting in these chapters. If you side with the leaders in the final part, they will send allied reinforcements in a future chapter, if the children are aided, you receive them as a playable unit. If the knights, maybe a Sword or Axe Armored, if the Riders, a Bow Knight.

Whatre yalls thoughts? Curious to hear what y'all think.

    FE6 Pick My Reclasses

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 07:07 PM PDT

I want to spice up an FE6 run so I'm going to reclass everybody. Please pick a character and tell me what to reclass them into. Thanks.

    Rules:

    1. Promoted units can only become promoted classes and unpromoted units can only pick unpromoted classes

    2. No reclassing Roy because I don't know how to change his story promotion. No reclassing Merlinus because I have no idea how that would work either.

    3. If I don't get a thief by Chapter 3, Chad stays as is.

    4. If a character doesn't have a weapon they can use in their starting inventory, I'll convert it to a weapon they can use of the same tier (i.e. Steel Lance becomes Steel Bow, Killing Edge becomes Killer Axe, etc.). If there's no equivalent I'll just give them Iron or Fire on top of their normal inventory.

    5. Ogier is a mage cause I said so.

    Character List:

    Marcus:

    Alen: Fighter

    Lance: Fighter

    Wolt: Cleric

How to choose which characters to bench?

    Posted: 04 Oct 2020 02:23 PM PDT

Specifically without looking up who has good growths/starting stats/good promotion paths and in games where grinding is impossible like Conquest. How would I know from the game alone?

I hope a question is OK here since the current thread is archived.
