The Myths, Legends, History, and Etymology in Fire Emblem: Three Houses

This took weeks to make, but I hope it is as insightful for you as it was for me. The last two parts contain heavy spoilers, therefore, I recommend reading this after at least one playthrough.

Spotlight Unit: Phina, the OG Thirsty Dancer

    Posted: 21 Jul 2020 05:02 PM PDT

So it's been a little bit since I've done this, but I think to post about characters that I really like in the franchise that I feel like get lost in the mix from the massive ass cast this franchise has.

So today, I wanted to post about the original thirsty dancer, Phina from Fire Emblem 3 and it's remake New Mystery. Now while I haven't played the OG 3, I was able to snag a physical patched version of New Mystery, and compared to Shadow Dragon, New Mystery was just notches above it.

And the Arachnea cast IMO is almost to massive. Like way to many characters when you use probably like 15 of them. But even though most units are pretty much wallpaper, several stood out including the franchise's first dancer Phina.

Now personally, Phina has lived in obscurity due to her games never releasing outside of Japan, so for many Ninian and Nils were the first dancers that many experienced, or I'd say the lovely Olivia, who was my personal first.

Now what makes Phina so different because while her one need is to dance and refresh, her combat prowess in battle were seriously out of nowhere. Then I looked at her growths, and saw that she had some crazy ass growths for a dancer. And it meant that if she got herself in a sitch, she could usually get out unscathed due to her avoid and combat.

While dancers kept their high speed, after Phina, dancers STR went away pretty much which makes sense since they should focus more on dancing, but not gonna lie I loved having a dancer who I knew could defend themselves if needed.

Phina IMO also started the thirsty dancer troupe in the series followed by Sylvia and Lalum. And the fact that she followed Naverre around when he wanted nothing to do with her was funny af.

Just wanted to give Phina some shine. With her release in Heroes recently, I feel like Phina has left the darkness of obscurity for the rest of the fan base who haven't gotten around to playing her games.
