Fire Emblem: Shadow Dragon Merciless Mode LTC Chapter 9 Posted: 27 May 2021 10:17 AM PDT There are two main goals for this chapter. One is we need to get Marth to the village to recruit Jeorge and the other is getting a boss killer to kill the Mannu. Mannu is pretty huge on stats for this point in the game so our only realitic method of killing him in a 4 turn clear is to rely on a crit from either Wendell or Jagen. Getting Marth to the villager can only happen on turn 3 however on turn 3 a pirate will block Marth's path. This is why Roshea was deployed to block the pirate from doing that. Down south is kinda tricky however. On turn 2 Wendell needs to be positioned in a spot where he is in range of a mage and hunter which combine to kill him. This is why Wrys was trained to D staves as it allowed him barrier Wendell so that he could survive them both. There are a lot of pirates on the way to the boss that we manipulate away using Caeda, Barst, Caesar, and Jagen. Caesar isn't special at performing this task, he was just already deployed and in the right class so it didn't make sense to use someone else. Turn 3 presents another issue because a pirate is wielding a Nasty Devil Axe. We have Caeda protect Wendell while Cain and Hardin form a wall to protect the other squishies. Hardin is guarenteed to have the bulk to survive but Cain and Caeda need stat procs for this strat to work. In sims I calculated that Caeda has a 98.6% chance of surviving while Cain has a 96.2% chance. If we trained Abel instead of Cain he would have only had a 88.8% chance. There is also the possibility of using Wolf who always has enough bulk to survive but his hit rates on the hunter are worse so he's not ideal. Wendell wants to get 3 staff uses in on this map. The problem is getting a staff use on turn 2 since Wrys needs to use barrier on Wendell he won't have access to it. We send Caeda turn 1 to try and get hit by a hand axe pirate but even at weapon triangle disadvantage he still only has 63 hit on her. Wendell technically doesn't need to get 3 this map but it will improve the reliability of a later clear if he does. Overall CoS: 14.7% (72.9% and 20.2% respectively) New Units: Jeorge - Jeorge is pretty good and comes in at the perfect time. He has the highest bow rank in the game for an A class unit and after 8 hits he can use the Parthia. It's actually really important that he gets Parthia so we will be putting effort into getting his bow rank up. [link] [comments] | ||
