Sometimes, you get a good feeling about your RNG in a chapter. Sometimes, that feeling is a lie.

How would you go about fitting Cindered Shadows into the main story of Three Houses?

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 06:29 PM PDT

As it currently stands, Cindered Shadows has to take place in some sort of alternate timeline because there are quite a few contradictions between the Cindered Shadows and White Clouds. These include being able to visit Abyss and recruit the Ashen Wolves in Chapter 2 and Yuri and Balthus having the Fetters of Dromi and Vajra-Mushti at the beginning of Cindered Shadows. Most importantly is that in White Clouds, a resident of Abyss states that Aelfric used to be in charge of Abyss but was kicked out because of a scandal, and the only time we see Aelfric in the main story is when he gives us the Quest "Flowers for Her" and then he disappears after we complete the quest.

I'm wondering what changes you would need to make to the story of both White Clouds and Cindered Shadows to make them compatible with each other?

Do you think Lords are better as vehicles for your journey or as character making their narrative?

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 09:34 AM PDT

So there a few examples like this where lords are more used as a vehicle for us rather than a character making their narrative. Take for example Corrin, the character is extremely hands off and most things that happens to them isn't fully directed toward Corrin actions. The same can for characters like Marth or Eliwood and Claude to some extent. Then you have the other type of lords that makes their narrative for example Alm, who in multiple scenerio is given a choice on how he want to approach things and the effects to come off of it. Lords like Hector, Ephraim, and Edelgard falls under this. Neither are bad by the way but I'm curious to see which side is more favored

Made it to the Endgame of Fire Emblem Awakening. (Hard difficulty) This is pretty much the team I had that lead me to this point.

This crossover is a surprise to be sure... but, a welcome one.

Pairings at the end of Three Houses

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 11:26 AM PDT

I just finished my first play through and I didn't know there're endings with characters coupled together, how does this work? What if I want a certain pair to have an ending how do I do that?

    Caeda refutes nationalism

    Posted: 07 Aug 2021 07:07 PM PDT

Nationalism is the idea that the interests of a nation/country are equivalent to the interests of the state/government. Essentially, it means that nationalists of the particular country will advocate for the government because they view it as a patriotic duty even if the interests of individual citizens or other nations are violated because the interests of their preferred country's government take priority.

However, Caeda refutes this by demonstrating that if a nationalist assumes that supporting the nation is equivalent to supporting the state. Then it follows that when you support the nation by looking after the people's interests, you necessarily support the state even if you go against the ruler.

Shiida: "But sir, surely you know that Doluna intends to use Manaketes to conquer humankind! You must act now- for Grust's sake, if not the world's! Join us, General Lorenz. We can put an end to this battle right now."

Lorenz: "Hmm…What you say makes sense enough, but I serve Grust. I cannot simply betray my country."

Shiida: "Ah, but what makes a country?"

    Lorenz: "Pardon?"

Shiida: "Is it one man- your king? Or is it the countless innocent people who make their home here?"

    Lorenz: "Well, that's- Hmm…"

Shiida: "My father has a saying: "A kingless country is a country still; but a king without subjects rules naught but hills." If you disobey your king to ensure his subjects' safety, how is that a betrayal? You are protecting his reign."

Lorenz: "Protecting his reign? …Aha ha ha, ha ha! Ahh, that mad logic! I feel as though I've shed twenty years and I'm talking to your father again. You win, Princess. I yield! I will join you, in the interests of king and country. Har!"
